Frequently asked questions

How can Grove help me?

Grove can connect you with our expert team of Nurses & Doctors for screening and, where appropriate, treatment with natural medicine.

Please note that Grove is only able to support patients located within Australia. While natural medicine can be effective for certain conditions and individuals, it may not be suitable for everyone or for all symptoms.

Do I need a discharge letter?

Yes, if you’re currently enrolled with another clinic and wish to transfer your care to Grove Health, a discharge letter is required. This ensures continuity of care and compliance with regulations. You can upload the discharge letter directly under your account in the Grove patient portal. To ensure a smooth transition, please send this through to us before your initial appointment.

Do I need a referral?

While referrals are not required to begin your journey with Grove, we are happy to accept them if you have one. You can upload your referral letter on your Grove patient portal prior to your first consultation.

Do I need a Medicare card?

All initial and follow-up appointments are bulk billed if you have a Medicare card. If you do not have a Medicare card, a $49 payment will be required for your appointment. If you do not show up for an appointment, you will be billed $49.

Do I need a health summary to be seen?

It's highly recommended to have your health summary ready before your appointment. This helps the doctor better understand your medical history and tailor your prescription to your specific needs. You can easily upload your health summary through the Grove patient portal.

What is the difference between a referral and a health summary? What should a health summary include?

A referral is when your GP specifically endorses the use of natural medicine products. Some GPs may not feel comfortable doing this. In these cases, you can request a health summary instead. A health summary should include a list of all your medical conditions, current medications, allergies, and any recent blood tests or investigations related to your condition.

Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?

Yes, you can reschedule or cancel your appointment up to 4 hours before the appointment time. Late cancellations or no-shows will incur a $49 fee.

How much are consults?

All initial and follow-up consults (3 monthly) are bulk billed for Medicare card holders. If you do not have a Medicare card, or do not provide it, a $49 fee will be charged. This fee is refundable if you cancel at least 4 hours prior to your appointment.

How will the doctor contact me?

Doctors will call you via the phone number listed on your Grove patient portal. Please ensure your phone accepts private/undisclosed numbers and is nearby with the volume turned up. Doctors will call within 15 minutes of your consultation window.

The doctor hasn’t contacted me within my appointment window, what should I do?

First, check that you haven’t missed or declined a call from a private number, and ensure your listed phone number is correct. In some cases, prescribers may be running late. If that happens, our admin team will notify you. If you're still unsure or haven’t heard anything, please contact our support team at 02 6188 8022 or info@grovehealth.com.au.

Which medical conditions or diseases can be treated?

Patients must have a regular GP and must have considered conventional treatment options. Our clinicians do not diagnose; they provide treatment for existing symptoms. Diagnosis and ongoing management should remain with your primary treating doctor (e.g. GP).

Can alternative medicine be prescribed to schizophrenia and psychotic disorders?

Due to potential risks, patients with schizophrenia or psychotic disorders must provide a letter of endorsement from their psychiatrist before being considered for treatment.

How do I change my scripts?

Treatment changes are discussed during follow-up appointments. If you're not yet due, please call us at 02 6188 8022. If additional appointments are required outside your free care, charges may apply.

Can any doctor amend a script?

No, doctors cannot modify prescriptions written by other doctors. A new appointment will be required.

Can I get my script transferred?

Yes, but transferring a prescription to a new pharmacy may delay dispensing. Once a script leaves Grove's platform, we cannot guarantee delivery times, stock availability, or pricing. To transfer a prescription, please call or email our support team.

Can I change the script intervals and amounts?

Bear in mind this is at the sole discretion of your treating doctor and a scheduled appointment doesn't guarantee this.

How much will my prescribed treatments cost?

Costs vary depending on the treatment and your condition. Due to regulations, we cannot advertise products or prices. Your doctor will discuss pricing during your consultation. Afterward, you can view costs and place orders through your Grove dashboard (alternatively, you are able to call our pharmacy team to discuss and process orders).

Can I choose which medication I want?

While you’re welcome to discuss any medications you’ve researched, the final decision is at the doctor’s sole discretion. They will assess the suitability of the medication based on your health needs and may suggest alternatives to ensure the best treatment outcome.

Can I travel interstate with prescriptions?

Yes, you may travel within Australia with prescription medication. Ensure it remains in original packaging with your name on the label. You are able to ask the pharmacy team for a copy of your prescriptions also. Familiarize yourself with local state laws. Note: this is not legal advice.

Can I travel overseas with my prescriptions?

International travel with natural medicines is generally prohibited. Check with government sources before traveling.

How much does medication shipping cost?

We offer two express shipping options Australia-wide:

  • Standard Express: $16.99 flat rate.
  • Insured Express: $29.99 flat rate. This option includes insurance coverage of up to $200 if the parcel is deemed lost or damaged by the freight provider.

You can choose your preferred shipping option during checkout. A signature is required upon delivery. Please ensure someone is available to sign between 9 AM and 5 PM, Monday to Friday. If no one is home, your parcel will be taken to your nearest post office.

How long until I receive my medicine?

Orders are shipped via express post and typically arrive within 1–2 business days in metro areas post dispatch. Please note dispatch times are not guaranteed.

Can I track my order?

Yes. You’ll receive a tracking number via email from StarTrack once your order is shipped.
